Experience:

Henry Liao is the founding partner of Schinders Law with a wide range of skills and experience across the spectrum of securities, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property and arbitration and litigation. Henry has vast experience advising and assisting clients with trademarks, designs and models, copyright, unfair competition and parasitism litigation. In particular, Henry has notable expertise on trademark matters including well-known trademark recognition, trademark right protection scheme planning, and dispute resolutions related to trademark right infringement, trademark licensing and passing off.

 

Schinders Law is a member of the Famous & Well-Known Marks Committee of the International Trademark Association. Henry delivered training on the topic of well-known trademark recognition for the committee members. Henry is also an honorary lecturer of McGeorge School of Law and Lingnan College, Sun Yet-Sen University, regularly lecturing on intellectual property right protection topics.

 

Henry is appointed as an independent director on the Board of Directors of Guangdong Huaxing Bank. Henry regularly advises the Board on bank regulatory compliance matters.

 

Henry worked in a prestigious international law firm (Linklaters) where he represented clients (including multinational corporations and sovereign governments) in offerings and private placements, including: initial and secondary public offerings, private placements under Rule 144A and offshore under Regulation S; drafted and negotiated disclosure documents, securities underwriting agreements and ancillary documents (opinions, closing memorandum, certificates, etc.); represented clients in mergers and acquisitions, restructuring of non-performing assets and joint ventures; drafted and negotiated purchase agreements and certain ancillary documents.

 

Henry worked in a famous multinational corporation (Procter & Gamble) in charge of joint venture investment, business transactions, advertising and intellectual property. He drafted and reviewed joint venture contracts, commercial contracts, technology transfer agreements; land use rights contracts and trademark licensing agreements. Henry coordinated legal issues among complicated corporate entities and advised management of potential legal issues.

 

Henry was listed and profiled in the “Legal 500”(Asia Pacific).
