Date:2014-09-03

On September 2, 2014, at the invitation of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants(HKICPA), Mr. Henry Liao, and Mr. Legend Guo lectured for the second time to the Continuing Professional Development Programme (CPD) students on “Development in the Trademark Protection under the New PRC Law” in Hong Kong.

Mr. Liao and Mr. Guo’s lecture focused on the newly-revised Trademark Law effected from May 1, 2014. They discussed the differences between the newly revised and the current trademark law and the impact of the new trademark law from the following prospectives: amendments to trademark law and their impacts; factors of trademark infringements and unfair competition, recognition and protection of well-known trademarks, infringements in trademark application, domain name infringements, and conflict between trademarks and other rights. Mr. Liao elaborated the differences and impact with specific cases. Participants raised their questions, exchanged their idea. The lecture was well received.
