Mr. Henry Liao, managing partner of Schinders Law, attended the Lawyers Associated Worldwide (“LAW”) 2014 Americas Regional Meeting held in Houston, Texas, US from March 6, 2014 to March 8, 2014.

The Law 2014 Americas Regional Meeting was organized by Burleson LLP, Houston, Texas. The representatives from 36 LAW member firms from Americas and all around the world attended this conference.

The Chairman of LAW, Bill Savarino from Cohen Mohr LLP in Washington presided over the opening ceremony. In the panel discussion session, lawyers from Burleson LLP delivered the keynote speech on the topic of ‘Energy in the Americas: Managing Growth Challenges during a Boom Time’. Participants discussed on what really matters to Corporate Counsel, the current macro energy trends and the implications on energy services and equipment companies and other topics.

During the meeting, Mr. Liao made a presentation on ‘Developments in the enforcement of Foreign Company Rights and Judgments in the PRC’, in his presentation, Mr. Liao reviewed the history of the enforcement of foreign company rights and judgments in the PRC, analyzed reasons for difficulties in enforcement, and outlined the measures to be taken to solve the problems. Mr. Liao’s presentation was well received by the participants.
