On April 15, 2014, at the invitation of United Technologies Building & Industrial Systems, Mr. Henry Liao, managing partner of Schinders Law, lectured to the staff in the legal departments and marketing departments on “Development in the Trademark Protection under the New PRC Law” in Shanghai.

Mr. Liao’s lecture focused on the newly-revised Trademark Law to be effective from May 1, 2014. Mr. Liao discussed the differences between the newly revised and the current trademark law and the impact of the new trademark law from the following prospectives: amendments to trademark law and their impacts; factors of trademark infringements and unfair competition, recognition and protection of well-known trademarks, infringements in trademark application, domain name infringements, and conflict between trademarks and other rights. Mr. Liao elaborated the differences and impact with specific cases. Participants raised their questions, exchanged their idea. The lecture was well received.
